Matt Doogue

Associate Professor Matt Doogue is a consultant physician for Canterbury District Health Board with particular responsibilities in medicines governance and “eMedicines”.
His research interests include adverse drug reactions, therapeutic drug monitoring, drug interactions, pharmacogenetics, and pharmacokinetics.

Nicole Gilroy


Dr. Nicky Gilroy is a past member of the national Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisations (ATAGI) and former Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Safety of Vaccines, an advisory group for the Therapeutic Goods Administration. She served as an Infectious Diseases consultant to the Blood & Marrow Transplant Network NSW for over a decade.
Her professional interests include Hospital Infection control and prevention, clinical epidemiology, control of vaccine-preventable diseases and management of complex infections in those with impaired immunity.

Soumyadeep Bose

Dr. Bose is in his second year of advanced training in General and Acute Medicine with a particular interest in diabetes, thyroid diseases, and perioperative medicine. His other interests include travelling, photography and gourmet cooking.

Tu Hao Tran

Dr. Hao is a medical registrar and aspiring cardiologist with a keen interest in medical education and martial arts.

Sonya Natasha Hutabarat

Sonya Natasha Hurabarat

Dr. Natasha Hutabarat is an Infectious Diseases advanced trainee. After graduating from Western Sydney University, she continued her junior medical and physician training in the suburbs of Western Sydney. She has a particular interest in tropical medicine and migrant health.

Rajni Lal

Dr . Rajni Lal is completing her dual Advanced Training in General and Acute Medicine along with Geriatric Medicine within NSW Hospitals. She has completed her Master’s in Public Health through the University of Sydney. Her interest is to pursue a career in Perioperative Medicine. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her beautiful nieces.

Stephen Hedger

Associate Professor Stephen Hedger is a General Physician and Rheumatologist. Along with his position as the Director of Acute Medical Unit at Flinders Medical Centre, he is also the coordinator of the Year 4 MD Program at Flinders University.

Helen Crowther

Dr. Helen Crowther is a Haematologist both at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals. She is also a Senior Lecturer in Haematology at the University of Western Sydney. Helen was a graduate of the first year of the Sydney University Graduate Medical Program and completed most of her post graduate training in Western Sydney. Following completion of her FRACP and FRCPA, she had the opportunity to spend some time in Toronto in the area of red cell disorders and thrombosis. She has also undertaken research into the health, services, and quality of life of patients with haemoglobinopathies in NSW.

Ashwin Swaminathan

Dr. Ashwin Swaminathan is a General Medicine and Infectious Diseases Physician based in Canberra. He has a research interest in environmental health, infectious diseases epidemiology and clinical service delivery research.
