Dr. Andrew Bleasel

Dr. Andrew Bleasel is a Neurologist at Westmead Hospital with an honorary appointment at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, since 1996. He is the Director of the Epilepsy Unit and Head of the Department of Neurology. He became interested in epilepsy while training in Neurology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (1987-1988) and then completed a Ph.D. in cellular neurophysiology at Sydney University. He completed a 3-year Clinical Fellowship in Epilepsy at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1995. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Graduate Medical Program at University of Sydney and on the National Examining Panel of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Between 2010 and 2012 he was the President of the Epilepsy Society of Australia. He is the Secretary General of the Commission of Asian and Oceanian Affairs (International League Against Epilepsy).
