Dr Surjit Tarafdar is a Staff Specialist in the Medical Assessment Unit and the Department of Nephrology at the Blacktown Hospital. He is also a conjoint senior lecturer in Medicine at the University of Western Sydney.
As a medical professional with a keen interest in academics and sharing knowledge, Dr Tarafdar founded the Sydney-based annual nephrology revision programme, “Revise Nephrology”, in 2015. In 2019, this programme was attended by 185 medicine trainees. Feedback from the participants has consistently shown that more than 90% of attendees have rated the course 4 or 5 stars for exam preparation and course content.
Dr Surjit Tarafdar identified the gap in the General Physician knowledge area and started the ANZGMU programme in 2019. It was the only one of its kind in Australia and was very well received.
